Walk into your exam already knowing where you stand.
A diagnostic maps every category on your state's real exam blueprint: the national insurance-principles content every exam shares, plus the state-specific statutes unique to yours. Daily practice then targets exactly what it finds, instead of shuffling through a thousand questions and hoping something sticks. Built for two license families today, General Lines (Life, Accident, Health & HMO) and Personal Lines, with Property & Casualty and more on the way.

- 8 categories on track
- 5 categories need work
- Updated after every practice set

Know exactly which questions matter.
Then spend your time there.
Most exam-prep tools hand you thousands of practice questions and hope volume gets you there. If you're studying evenings after a full workday, that's the wrong trade: your time should go to the specific gaps that will actually show up on your exam, instead of everything at once.
One diagnostic. Then practice that actually follows it.
Two license families, each with its own blueprint
Every category below draws on a shared national pool of insurance-principles questions common to every state we cover, plus the state-specific statutes unique to yours. The topics below are grouped this way for General Lines and Personal Lines, but the exact category count, names, and weights come from your own state's real exam blueprint and vary state to state (Texas's General Lines blueprint, for example, breaks into 13 categories) - that specific blueprint, not this general list, is what the diagnostic actually maps to.
General Lines — Life, Accident, Health & HMO
- Life insurance basics
- Life policies & riders
- Annuities
- Federal tax considerations
- Health insurance basics
- Individual health provisions
- Group health insurance
- Social insurance (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Disability income
- Long-term care
- HMO & managed care
- Policy provisions & contract law
- State laws, rules & regulations
Personal Lines — Property & Casualty
- Property insurance types & concepts
- Casualty insurance types & concepts
- Policy terms & related concepts
- Provisions & contract law
- State-specific property statutes
- State-specific casualty statutes
The process
-
01
Diagnostic assessment
A short, targeted assessment maps what you already know against every category on your state's blueprint, covering both national insurance principles and state-specific law.
-
02
Targeted daily practice
Each session weights questions toward your weakest categories first.
-
03
Micro-lessons & flashcards
Short explanations and spaced-repetition terminology review reinforce what practice reveals you're missing.
-
04
Timed mock exam
A full-length, exam-format simulation once your diagnostic shows you're ready to test that readiness under real conditions.
-
05
Progress & readiness
A running view of category-by-category readiness, so you always know exactly where you stand.
Designed for focused study sessions, day after day.
Blueprint-mapped diagnostic
Every question is tagged to the exact state exam blueprint category it tests, so your results mean something concrete.
Micro-lessons
Short, focused explanations for exactly the concept a missed question exposed, instead of a full chapter to re-read.
Spaced-repetition flashcards
6,530 terminology and definition cards, scoped to your own state and license family, resurface right before you'd otherwise forget them.
Full-length timed mock exam
A full-length simulation matched to your own state's real question count, time limit, and pacing before the real thing.
Progress, readiness & streaks
A clear, honest picture of readiness by category, plus daily streaks that keep momentum going.
Light & dark theming
Built with an accessibility-first design system: readable, high-contrast, and easy on late-night sessions.
All 50 states live today, across two license families.
The diagnostic engine and content pipeline are state-generic by design: General Lines (Life, Accident, Health & HMO) now covers all 50 states, and Personal Lines covers 49 of 50 (Montana doesn't issue a standalone Personal Lines license). The same blueprint-mapped architecture is how both got built, and it's how the next license family will too.
We'd rather launch a little later than rush a question bank.
Every item in LicensePath is sourced from real state insurance code, official state Department of Insurance materials, and the official Pearson VUE/PSI/Prometric candidate outline, then checked against that outline, independently reviewed three separate times, and approved before it's released. Nothing goes live because it sounded plausible.
That review process is also why the app isn't open to the public yet. We're not going to ship a shortcut on the thing candidates are trusting us to get right.

Straight answers, including the unglamorous ones.
Is LicensePath available yet?
Yes, on Android: LicensePath is live now on Google Play. All 50 states' General Lines question banks and 49 states' Personal Lines question banks are fully reviewed and approved and ready to study. iOS is submitted and in Apple's App Store review; join the list below and we'll email you the moment it's approved.
Is this official Pearson VUE or state regulator content?
No. LicensePath is an independent study product, not a government entity. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any state government, state insurance department, or regulatory agency, or with Pearson VUE. Our content is prepared from publicly available regulatory, licensing, and outline sources and reviewed internally before use; it is independent study material rather than official exam content.
Which states are supported?
All 50 states, for General Lines (Life, Accident, Health & HMO). Personal Lines is live in 49 of 50 states; Montana is the one exception, since it doesn't issue a standalone Personal Lines license. Every question in both license families is approved content, independently reviewed three times against its state's real exam outline. Beyond those two, we're building toward Property & Casualty, Adjuster, Surplus Lines, Series 6 & 63, and Title Insurance study material, using the same state-generic pipeline that got us to 50 states.
What does the diagnostic actually measure?
It's a short assessment mapped to every category on your state's real exam blueprint: the national insurance-principles material every state's exam draws on, plus the state-specific statutes and rules that are yours alone. Instead of a single overall score, it shows you which of those categories you're already solid on and which need work, so your practice time goes where it actually matters.
What's the difference between free and premium?
Free gives you the full diagnostic, sample daily practice, terminology flashcards, and progress tracking: enough to see how the app works and where you stand. Premium unlocks full adaptive daily practice across every category, all micro-lessons, and the full-length timed mock exam. Premium is $19.99/month, or $39.99 one-time for a 90-Day Exam Pass if you'd rather not have a subscription running. Annual All Access is $79.99/year if you're covering more than one exam family.
How long does it take to prepare with LicensePath?
There's no fixed timeline: it depends on your state, your background, and how much time you can put in each week. The diagnostic exists precisely so you're not guessing: it shows you which categories you're already solid on and which need real work, so you spend study time closing actual gaps instead of re-reviewing everything on a fixed schedule.
Is this the same as the real exam?
No, and we want to be direct about that. LicensePath is an independent study tool, not an official practice product from Pearson VUE or your state regulator. Our mock exam matches your state's real exam length, timing, and category weighting as closely as we can verify it, but the specific questions on your actual exam will be different from ours.
What if my license type isn't supported yet?
General Lines and Personal Lines are live now, in every state that issues them. If you're studying for something else, like the full Property & Casualty commercial agent license, Adjuster, Surplus Lines, Series 6 & 63, or Title Insurance, join the launch list below and tell us which: that's exactly how we're prioritizing what comes next. The diagnostic engine and content pipeline are already state-generic, so a new license family goes through the same blueprint-mapping and sourcing process General Lines and Personal Lines went through. We won't promise a specific date, since we'd rather ship it right than fast.
Does LicensePath work offline?
Mostly, yes. Practice sessions, flashcards, and your progress are stored locally on your device first, so you can keep studying without a signal. You'll need a connection to sign in, sync your progress across devices, or manage a Premium subscription.
Is LicensePath available on iOS and Android?
Android, yes: LicensePath is live now on Google Play. iOS is built and submitted, currently in Apple's App Store review. Join the launch list below and we'll email you the moment it's approved.
Is my study data private?
We don't sell your data, and your specific answers and question text are never sent as analytics. If you create a cloud account, your learning data syncs through Supabase behind row-level security scoped to your account. You can turn analytics off, export your data, or delete your account from Settings once the app is live. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Training new producers? We'd like to hear from you.
If you run an agency, brokerage, or training program bringing new producers through state licensing, we're interested in building something that works for training cohorts as well as individuals. Tell us a bit about your program and we'll follow up as agency features take shape.
